Is our Pretty Boy going to prison this season? New photos from behind the scenes of episode 1216 "Assistance is Futile" of Criminal Minds have emerged showing Matthew Gray Gubler (Spencer Reid) in a prison enviroment and in a prison uniform alongside some inmates. Recently TV Guide and new comer, Damon Gupton, teased that "A Big Surprise" Is Coming in the New Year. Read the full interview below: The first half Season 12 of Criminal Minds has been eventful -- to say the least -- but there are even more shockers ahead. Namely, one of your most beloved BAU members is about to do something very surprising, according to Damon Gupton, who plays newbie Stephen Walker. "There are some twists and turns. There are some things you wouldn't expect from a particular team member," he tells TVGuide.com. "Not me. Possibly somebody else." When asked if this is related to the hunt for Mr. Scratch (Bodhi Elfman), Gupton would only tease: "It could be, could not be. I have to [dangle] the carrot in front of you." The most obvious carrot is Reid, given all the drama surrounding his mom Diana (Jane Lynch), and the fact that we know Lynch is returning for a two-episode arc. Reid would do anything for his mom. Or maybe it's just Rossi (Joe Mantegna) giving up his Italian leather shoes. Could it be that the shocker is that Reid does something highly illegal to protect his mother in episode 13 titled "Spencer" and his actions land him in prison? Or is Mr. Scratch trageting Reid and somehow lands Reid in prison? Or prehaps he's undercover to get info from an inmate and former FBI agent? The former FBI agent being Harold Perrineau who was recently cast as Calvin Shaw, a former FBI agent incarcerated for killing one of his informants. Shaw has a run-in with a BAU agent and the team must determine whether he’s a friend or foe. According to producers of the show, Perrineau first appears in episode 1215 "Alpha Male". This all adds up as Gubler hasn't been on set for episodes 14 and 15. And by set, we mean that he wasn't on the BAU set alongside his other castmates. Our prediction is that Reid somehow ends up in prison in episode 14 after doing something highly illegal in episode 13 to protect his mother or even commits euthanasia to save his mother from a painful life living with Schizophrenia as Reid would do anything for his mother but would he go so far to end his mother's life? And then in episode 15, Shaw has a run-in with a BAU agent (Reid). And then the BAU somehow get Reid and Shaw out of prison later on in the season and continue to track down Mr. Scratch. Why do you think Reid's in prison? Comment your prediction's below, we'll lover to hear them. Dr. Spencer Reid would became an unsub for the crime being unless Mr Scratch comes up and will become the permanent criminal.

I love Spencer Reid he is the sweetest, kindest and most caring human being. Even tho he is an actor, it is hard for me to see him looking confused and afraid with those big guys all up on him. He is playing this role way way too believable. I want him out of there, since you took Derek Morgan don't even think about taking him off. No more of taking my ideal men from this show.......Criminal Mind Fan

I love Reid. I also Love Morgan and Hitch. I can't believe y'all took them off the show. The only way Reid would commit a crime would be for his mother. He loves her so much.

Dont like this story line. It is so unlikely that they would place him in gen pop. not to mention that would he ever go out of the country without FBI knowldge. It is not to be beleived, They are a good team it seems they are doing little to solve the idend of Mr. Scratch. It makes me want to stop watching the show. I dont like the way it is headed. While I know the writters will bring it all together with some great reson why this is all happening. Still don't like it!!!! Please end this before I lose interest.

I am having a difficult time seeing Reid in prison. It has gone on long enough. Each episode makes me more agitated and anxious. Please extricate Reid from prison soon. I am satisfied with the other changes that have been made to the show's cast but you need to get Reid out.
