Criminal Minds Season 13 Scoop

Want to know what to expect from the 13th Season of Criminal Minds? Well you're in luck. Thanks to TV Guide we have the scoop on the upcoming season.
Where We Left Off: Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) was released from prison after he outwitted Cat (Aubrey Plaza) once again. Mr. Scratch (Bodhi Elfman) lured the rest of the BAU to his house, where he had set up a trap and caused a multiple vehicle pileup. The Scoop: Walker is out and Simmons is in! Damon Gupton is leaving the show after less than one season, while Daniel Henney will bring his Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders character over to help the BAU catch Scratch once and for all. Simmons transfers to the BAU because the IRT has disbanded for some reason -- emphasis on "some reason." Showrunner and executive producer Erica Messer tells us that they have yet to decide exactly what caused the split. "That might come into play in our back nine [episodes] for the BAU, but it's not anything that we've settled on yet," she says. "One of the things on the table [was] that maybe there was a scandal that brought down the IRT and that's why they're not around." Meanwhile, Reid will be reinstated, but there's no talk yet of having Jane Lynch return as his mom Diana. Jamie Kennedy, who played cannibal Floyd Feylinn in the 2007 episode "Lucky," will return. "We went back and looked at that episode and really studied exactly what was he charged with, do we want to say he stood trial or he was not mentally able to stand trial? We got to write the sequel to 'Lucky' in a lot of ways," Messer says. That was the same episode in which Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) was shot, "so there will be some healing that needs to happen for her because here it is 10 years later." Criminal Minds returns with it's 13th Season on Wednesday, September 27 at 10/9c on CBS. |
