PREVIOUS PAGEPAGET BREWSTERBrewster joined the show in the second season to replace Lola Glaudini who left the show in 2006. Brewster plays the role of current Unti Chief SSA Emily Prentiss. In 2010, it was announced that along with A.J. Cook, Brewster was fired from the show and would leave half-way through season 6. But in 2011 it was announced that both Brewster and Cook would be returning for the show's seventh season. Unfortunately, Brewster departed at the end of season 7 but then returned to make guest appearances in seasons 9 and 11. Then in 2016, it was announced the Brewster would be returning to the show for season 12 to replace Thomas Gibson. JOE MANTEGNAMantegna joined the show in season 3 to replace Mandy Patinkin who left the show in 2007. Mantegna plays the role of SSA David Rossi. During his time on the show, Mantegna has also directed 9 episodes. RACHEL NICHOLSNichols joined to show in season 6 as SA Ashley Seaver. Nichols was hired to fill the voids of both Paget Brewster and A.J. Cook who were fired from the show in 2010. Unfortunately, Nichols' character was a one season wonder and was let go from the show in 2011. Nichols made her final appearance in the season finale of season 6. JEANNE TRIPPLEHORNTripplehorn joined the show in season 8 as Dr. Alex Blake. Tripplehorn replaced Paget Brewster who left the show for a second time in the middle of 2012. Tripplehorn was only on the show for two seasons and left in 2014 at the end of season 9. JENNIFER LOVE HEWITTHewitt was another one season wonder. Hewitt joined the show in season 10 to replace Jeanne Tripplehorn who left in 2014. Hewitt played the role of SSA Kate Callahan. In 2015, Hewitt announced that she was pregnant and decided to leave the show at the end of season 10. DANIEL HENNEYHenney plays the role of SSA Matthew "Matt" Simmons. Henney first appeared on the show in season 10 in the backdoor pilot for the spin-off, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. Henney was a main cast member on Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders for two seasons until it was cancelled in 2017. Henney then joined the main cast of Criminal Minds for the shows thirteenth season to replace Damon Gupton who was let go from the show in 2017. Henney also made a guest appearance in season 12. AISHA TYLERTyler first joined the show in season 11 to fill the voids left by Jennifer Love Hewitt and A.J. Cook while on maternity leave in 2015. Tyler plays the role of forensic psychologist Dr. Tara Lewis. Although she was only meant to appear in the first 6 episodes of season 11, Tyler was kept around for the rest of the season and was later promoted to series regular for season 12. During her time on the show, Tyler has directed one episode and will direct another episode later on in 2018. ADAM RODRIGUEZRodriguez joined the show in season 12 to replace Shemar Moore who left the show in 2016. Rodriguez plays the role of former Army Ranger, SSA Luke Alvez. During his time on the show, Rodriguez has directed one episode and will direct another episode later on in 2018. DAMON GUPTONGupton was another one-season wonder. Gupton joined to show in season 12 as SSA Stephen Walker to replace Thomas Gibson who was fired in 2016. Unfortunately, Gupton's character was killed off in the season 13 premiere. Although Gupton himself didn't appear in the episode he was killed off, meaning his last appearance was in the season 12 finale.
