Criminal Minds - Season 14 Will Not Receive a Backorder
11/27/2018 | By Mace Parker
Season 14 of Criminal Minds will not be receiving any more additional episodes.
Deadline has reported that CBS has declined to order any additional episodes beyond the initial 15 episodes that were ordered when Criminal Minds was renewed for season 14. When releasing the mid-season schedule for 2019, CBS also announced that season 14 of Criminal Minds will not be getting a back-order, meaning that episode 15 of the season will be the season finale. The air dates for the last 5 episodes of the season have yet to be confirmed. But it is confirmed that season 14 will wrap up before March 13, 2019 when SEAL Team takes it's 10pm time slot. At the start of the season there was hope that season 14 would get an order of 7 more episodes, bringing the episode total up to 22, just like the 3 previous seasons. CBS has not given any reason as to why season 14 will not a receive a back-order. This may be because of low ratings or because CBS has a lot of shows on the bench waiting to premiere during the mid-season. There has been no word on whether there will be a season 15 or if this season will be the last. We might have to wait til May to get more details on Criminal Minds' future. Catch all new episodes of Criminal Minds, Wednesdays at 10/9c on CBS.
