Ahead of it's Season 2 finale (now Series Finale), CBS has axed the Criminal Minds spin-off, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, after two seasons. The critically panned spinoff lasted two seasons at the network. CBS continues to make decisions on its bubble shows. The network has canceled Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders after two low-rated seasons. This is the second Criminal Minds spin-off to be axed by CBS after low ratings. The first was Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, which was canceled back in 2011 after one short season. Killing off Criminal Minds' second spinoff was not a quick decision. CBS renewed the 2016 midseason effort, lambasted by critics for its xenophobic premise of Americans encountering problems abroad, though only for another 13 episodes. Ratings got even more dangerously low, averaging just a 1.2 in the key demo. And while the 7.3 million-strong average would look good elsewhere, it was not much to write home about for a CBS drama. Showrunner Erica Messer still has the mothership as Criminal Minds was recently renewed for a 13th season. Gary Sinise, Alana De La Garza, Daniel Henney, Tyler James Williams and Annie Funke starred in the co-production between ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios. Mark Gordon exec produced. Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders is only the second returning drama to get the ax from CBS this season, joining veteran comedy 2 Broke Girls in the canceled category as The Odd Couple awaits a formal call (it is not expected to move forward). On the freshman side, CBS canceled Doubt after two seasons as well as comedy The Great Indoors while dramas Pure Genius and Training Day are not expected to continue. Meanwhile, CBS — which presents its new schedule to ad buyers this week in New York — added eight new shows for the 2017-18 broadcast season with half of them dramas. VIA: The Hollywood Reporter Catch the Two Hour Series Finale of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders on Wednesday, May 17 at 9/8c on CBS.

CBS is losing viewers by deleting outstanding shows like this one. Bye, bye CBS.

I loved the 2 spinoffs of Criminal minds...Suspect Behavior and Beyond Borders. Maybe the advertising of both shows were very low so nobody would be able to watch them....nor did many people that I know knew they were on. I think both shows had a disservice done to them. I am a Criminal Minds watcher and the two spinoffs were different from other cop shows they keep putting on.....and now they are going to put two more on SWAT and SEALS....good grief didn't we have enough of them in the 80's.
